As an American living in Austria I can say firsthand that the government has been outstanding from day one. The people are informed and continually given accurate up to date information. Though not a lot is open the mood is definitely upbeat but with caution. Kurz has done an A+ job.

Brit living in Austria at the moment, and Austria have done a fantastic job or communicating rules, working quickly, and the people have been super organised and compliant. It's worked. And it gives me hope for a semi-normal (new-normal) summer.

I have been here in Austria about 5 months ago, and when the Corona situation started, I was watching the reaction in every country, and thankfully in Austria i found that they were taking the actions very carefully considering the balance between the advantages and disadvantages, and hopefully, it works, , and I think that this success is due to the Prime minister Mr. Sebastian Kurz. who made the right decisions at the right time.

I think we dodged a bullet there with the new government in Austria relatively shortly before the crisis started. And I also find it noteworthy how quickly companies and citizens adjusted. Observing the reaction in other countries in the media, it seemed like all of Austria took it quite seriously very quickly and that may have been why the rates here look great compared to most countries.
And while I don't agree with much (if anything) that the OEVP and Kurz stand for in general, not only am I happy with how the government has handled the crisis so far, I also love the fact that he mentions learning from Asian countries here, since they've been excellent in containment.

Kurz spricht von 10.000 Tests am Tag, das Gesundheitsministerium hat von 12. - 19. 4. offiziell 34.366 Testes (im Schnitt 4.909 pro Tag) angegeben. Das ist politische "Unschärfe" :-(

Great words chancellor! Austria has mastered this crisis better than most European countries (especially Germany) and it's good and right you honestly say this. America should take from the example made by the Austrian government and find a way to be both social to the employees as well as the employers in regards to the economy!
