I lived in Bethlehem, & Syria for 9 years. I worked as a shepherd. 130 sheep. Winter is the birthing time so shepherds in the Holy Land must be out at night not only to tend but to help the LAMBS being born! (In case there are any complications w the birth we would always be out at night w the flock in Dec & Jan)

It is amazing to me how we regard our ancestors as fools, not capable of keeping records or of sound reasoning, and that only we, in our wonderfully enlightened times are capable of discerning and safeguarding truth. What do we call such arrogance? Tempo-centricity? In actual fact, our ancestors were every bit as capable of good reasoning, perhaps even more capable than we are in our day. Despite their lack of technology, their minds were clearer, less fragmented by the distractions and noise of modernity. For sure at least their memories were stronger because they relied on them. We should doubt our own reasoning at least as vigorously as we doubt theirs, if not more so. And we should take the time to inform ourselves by study before we commit to prejudice. Thank you sir for bringing the information to us who are too lazy, uncaring and undisciplined to challenge ourselves.

Wow, that's an impressive looking curriculum. My 13 yr old son is a History ADDICT. He converted to the Catholic faith in 2017. He totally wants to take these courses. Thanks for this free lesson on the historic evidence for Christ's Birth date :)

God gave me the coolest birthday.
I was born a cradle Catholic December, 16 1960. Exactly 8 days after the feast of the Immaculate Conception, exactly 8 days before Jesus birthday, 8+8=16, and the 16th is the day the 9 day novena starts to the Infant Prague every year. How cool is that😊

Thank you for your dedication to show us biblically why Jesus was born on December 25th. I looked into but I didn't have any resources at the time. I became Catholic in the year 2000. I studied fervently to see if this is truly what I feel and question. I have gone to many churches being Baptist, Methodist, Orthodox, Episcopalian, and finally Lutheran. The other churches that I went to were because of my family being Navy so that was my reasoning for attending the different types of churches. I was in love with all of them because of their teachings about God and the Lord Jesus Christ. I literally was in love with God and Jesus Christ his Son. My parents didn’t go but would take me and drop me off. Anyways to become Lutheran I was involved in all of the church roles. I was happy but there was something missing. Now, going from Lutheran to Catholic baffled all my friends and pastor was sacrilege. When I studied through the internet it changed me. From the beginning to the present I couldn’t be anything but Catholic. I have reservations about certain clergy or being liberal but so goes most churches anymore. So therein is my story. I have left a lot out but then it would end up being a book. God Bless.

Very interesting. It always makes me laugh with the 'sheep and winter' argument. I live in the North of England, UK and our sheep are out in all weathers, even the deep snows of winter and they still survive happily. Where else would we put them? in sheds for over 1, 000 sheep! but as you say, Israel is not covered in deep snow every winter. Even if someone insisted on that argument, however, I remind them that 2, 000 years ago the North of England (for instance) was a lot warmer than it is today. The Romans famously had vineyards going right up to the Scottish borders (Hadrian's Wall). Can't do that today. So imagine how much warmer the winters were in Israel 2, 000 years ago?

if anybody knew the date of His Birth, it would most certainly be Mother Mary... who gave St. Luke all the inside info on the Annunciation and such with Elizabeth and St. John... Ya... of course it happened on December 25... Hail and Blessed be the hour and the moment when the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, in Bethlehem, at midnight, in piercing cold.... In that hour, vouchsafe, I beseech thee, Oh my God, to hear my prayers and grant my petitions through the merits of Your Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother !! <3

I'm outside of Savannah, Georgia. We too are 32 degrees latitude. Very warm in winter. 70 degrees this coming Christmas.🎄♥️

What about the objection given in Luke 2:2: "This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city." The objection that I heard about this was that censuses weren't taken in December so why wasn't this brought up in your video?

Very fascinating research. I was not aware of many of these finer details. Thank you for sharing. I had come to think over the years that Christmas was more of a honorary celebration of Christ's birth, and not his literal birthday. Now I will need to re-evaluate my own assumptions to understand more clearly. Thank you for sharing.
