I do like the bit of Bruce Gore dry humour at the end - "The meaning of your life is that there is no meaning. Have a lovely weekend"!

Mr Gore: I decided to study The History of Philosophy a few months ago. I first went through all of Ronald Nash's courses on biblicaltraining.org. I read several of his books and The Consequences of Ideas by RC Sproul. I found your course on youtube and am to #38 at present. I will work through the rest while reading THE HISTORY OF WESTERN PHILOSOPHY AND THEOLOGY by John Frame. I see you are still adding lectures to this wonderful series. How many more are left? You are up to #85. I am supplementing with some select books as well particularly biographies. Sir Anthony Kinney's book on THE HISTORY OF WESTERN PHILOSOPHY looks good as well. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS GREAT

"The meaning of your life is that there is no meaning" - I'm so glad that there's one more lecture in this series; that'd be a bummer of a final sentence if this was the last one hahah

In the Romanian language there is a saying that stipulates " Not even the Devil knows". In my opinion this is a statement that affirms the superlative knowledge of the Devil. Maybe Sartre's idea should be reformulated in  "If the Devil exist, God cannot exist". Maybe he did not want to upset the Devil (who would?) and Who is closest to Devil than the human being? So he used in his sentence Man and not the Devil. On a different level I realize that God does not take an article, on the contrary Devil does. It looks like God being universal is everything and nothing and Devil is an entity, the quintessence of universal, the crème de la crème of the universe, and he, the Devil, deserves everything.

What Sartre proved by his own life is not that hell is other people, but that hell is himself. You by yourself is hell. Compare Sartre's hell to the version of CS Lewis where people get eventually get self chosen solitude in the Great Divorce. A version of No Exit does happen. Muhammad promised 72 virgins. Where do you think he can get so many? They will all be lesbians.

Very little philosophy in these lectures. Content too shallow.
