Dear Mark, many thanks for doing this fantastic and detailed review of the lens, with beautiful footage made with the SIRUI 75mm f/1.8 APSC anamorphic 1.33 lens & your FX30. What picture profile did you use please ? Clear-image zoom to crop in?
Great job, it convinced me to buy and try this special lens as "companion" as recommended to my 35mm SIRUI!
Many thanks !
Mike (Europe).

PS. I would recommend modifying the video title to include the lens name ( to help find it as I did not show in my initial YouTube searches ) if that is possible after publishing. ! ?

Your description of anamorphic lens usage in film prints gave me a chuckle. My university film club (this was 40 years ago) had a budget and could rent any film they could afford for showing on campus, typically 1 showing per film. So, the aspect ratio of the film would change almost every time a film was shown. And, about half the time, the movie was started with the wrong lens on the projector. The projectionist would keep the film running squeezed while he rooted around the projection booth for the correct lens. So, we'd see 5 minutes or so of squeezed footage. Why things weren't organized in there, I couldn't tell you. But it was pretty funny at the time.

Wow Mark everyday I am surprised here with some new interesting stuff for my M6 MarkII... Do you think it is useful for YouTube? Right now I can get it in Czech republic for cheaper than Viltrox...35mm You recommended 35mm in another video but that one is for 700Eur no special crazy discount there...

I picked up the 50 on BH for Sony E for $299 today. Crazy deal that has me watching way too many videos. Glad your video was one of them.

Love the content so much! The constant switching between two angles is a bit much though, it’s actually sort of disorienting and distracting… but that’s just one persons opinion! 😅

Great review Mark! Do you think that the flares can be removed or changed with lens filters? Would be cool of you could just use a filter whenever you don't want those in your shots.

I owned the 24 f2.8 and the 50 f1.8 from that set of lenses, I really like the warm look and the fun to shoot that they are.

We got a 24 and 75 for our FX30, and a 35 for the C70. They produce pretty cool results.
