2023 Chevrolet Blazer – MPG Test | Real-world Highway Fuel Economy

Unlike most crossovers these days, the Chevrolet Blazer is available with a V-6. This helps in the horsepower department, but not in efficiency. GM has thought of that though, and allows the Blazer to run in front wheel drive only, as well as a "V-4" configuration.

*We were mistaken, this Blazer does have adaptive cruise, it was just disabled when we received it.*

I love your fuel economy tests. 90% of my driving is just like them, cruise set at 70 for mile after mile. One of the most tiring things for me is a loud interior. Given the low price of dedicated dB meters (or free apps), would it be possible to start including a sound level?

I had one of these as a long term rental for 3 months while my car was waiting on a part. Two things that impressed me about the Blazer were how quick it was and the mpg. The 3.6 also sounded pretty good when revved out. That said, Apple carplay constantly glitched out on me which was extremely annoying to live with.

I appreciate your review showing real world fuel economy. What kind of wind did you have that day though? I test drove a 2019 Blazer with the V6 and going 69 on the highway I looked at the instant mileage and it was in the low to mid 30s, going both North and South, about 3-5 miles each way. I recently test drove a few SUVs, all by GM, and the Blazer was by far my favorite. Good power and acceleration too. The 2018 Acadia Denali with the same engine as the Blazer was a dog, but that was before they gave the Acadia the 9 speed. Equinox sucked with the 1.5 and FWD.

Getting the EPA Numbers is pretty Damn Good. My 22 MDX "rarely" hits the26 MPGs per EPA numbers at 70-75 MPH on the smooth Highway.

Chris, I can tell that you’re Italian. How do I know this? You don’t ever stop moving your hands.

Those 21-inch wheels are wider than the 20-inch. They should provide slightly better grip & better stopping distance.
