Yup.
I know this for a fact.
I lost my drive for any goals, and dreams within my life.
Only when I do my new goals, ad do my new dreams, I feel better.

this brings new meaning to batman: "u either become a hero, or live long enough to be the villain". If u dont have lofty goals in life, you'll have bad goals. Because brain cant exist without goals.

Even small goals will help you! I’m a minimalist so I don’t set huge goals but I do set little ones each day. It drives me forward and keeps me stable. I’ve also found purpose in Jesus Christ and orient my goals to do good for myself and ultimately those around me. Many of my small goals include being kind to people I encounter throughout the day. My first goal I try to succeed in each day is to compliment the first person I see. This typically snowballs into me complimenting most of the people I interact with throughout the rest of the day. God bless all that read this

So without a goal you can never be happy

The unfortunate part of this is conditions like ADHD where this process doesn't work effectively, we can make a BUNCH of goals, but they're often from the result of an immediate dopamine hit from progressing at something new. You want to learn guitar, so you go out and buy a guitar, bam you get a flood of dopamine at the immediate result, then you start to practise and you don't immediately get good at it, so you drop it because there's no more dopamine, because your ADHD brain doesn't work normally and can't produce that dopamine from incremental improvements.

So you move from new thing to new thing because you get an immediate dopamine hit at something being fun or easy, but as soon as it ISN'T fun and/or easy, the dopamine is gone. And that's one specific disorder among many that influence this process in different ways.

... so this is why video games are so addictive!? This also explains why intermittent rewards are more habit forming than consistent rewards!?!!

To be correct you can still get positive emotion right you can get dopamine by doing drugs. You can get dopamine by eating sugar and get dopamine from having sex, but notice that the issue here is that these are goals they don’t teach you anything. It’s very a natural to just have rewards without the effort because it’s the effort that it’s important for the kids to consistently pursuing that call if that’s what you’re missing.

Agreed, but the way the world is currently our goals are large and take sometimes years to complete.
Its hard to perceive progress when we are grinding for months at a time between the milestones.

I can see my progression, but its almost meaningless with how many endless hours of work it took and how many more there are ahead.

I am starting to think that life is work. If im happy or not is irrelevant, at least till this chapter is over.

It's great and true but sometimes the sacrifice of leaving your family alone to pursue positive emotion $$ 😢

We're living in the very good and bad times. A law must come into force that requires the labeling of materials generated by AI. Otherwise, how can we be sure that a real person said it?

So basically have a goal and practice dopamine moving towards that goal or get shit dopamine by doing drugs, alcohol or eating, but I’d rather do the first one because at least you’ll get some Where

People seem to conveniently forget about the amount of time and energy invested by our ancestors into the development of technology and substances which are taylored specifically to play off the inner workings of a human beings brain, purely in the interest of wealth procurement. Centuries of research and development have gone into things like opiods and social media (to some degree or another), and somehow its considered an unforseen concequence that the minds of our newest generations are being completely eroded, as they endlessly consume, and siphon wealth into the hands of those whom maintain the status quo? To top it all off, they are conveniently blamed for being weak of will, lacking of character, in the face of such overwhelming odds. The concept would be extremely humorous, if it wasnt so terrifying in nature.
