I had the horrible plastic/plexi not sure what material but hard as a rock and no give when I was a kid in the 80’s and they were TERRIBLE!!! ‘Oh you’ll form calluses and they’ll be more comfortable.’ 🙄 Running was hard and was always back with the asthma kids cause it hurt to run. Times have sure changed. I’ve had everything in between from foamy ones that don’t last as long and my favorite have to be the leather top layered kind. You’re 100% right about the commercial ones as none have enough support. Still have all my casts but saw your other video on how to do the impression. That’s exactly how my Doc did the impression for the leather ones. Best supports I’ve ever had and most comfortable and most accurate.
Still can’t understand why idiot insurance companies won’t pay for them. If I don’t wear mine a few days the hip and back pain start up. I used to know when I was due for new supports when I had that ice pick jabbing pain in my left knee and hip. The future problems down the road I’m sure are totally preventable with good foot support.

So well explained. Thank you! A definite necessity of a doctor is the ability to articulate which you do fantastically well in all your videos. Based on your videos, I now understand that when I ignored the burning arch pain in boot camp class, it caused what I have now; inner foot heel pain. Listen to your fitness instructors people! When she/he says you're more prone to injury when doing a high aerobic exercise with extra pounds to lose! More importantly, if you have pain, don't ignore it. Stop! Thank you for explaining that a ripped Faschia is not a permanent state :). Losing some weight and taking better care of my feet using your explanations for arch and heel supports has meant that I can feel 20 (almost) again. Thank you!

Great information. I would be very interested in your opinion on the Powerstep Pinnacle Memory Foam insoles. They have the same support as the regular Powerstep Pinnacles. Besides adding comfort, are there any other benefits to the memory foam, in terms of conforming to the arch more closely, or supporting the foot better, correcting the position of the foot? Thanks very much for all the great information you provide!

What about the length of the arch. Mine seems long in proportion to my foot length.

If I am doing lots of physical activity and jumping, would a rigid or flexible arch support better for me? I have a neutral arch off the ground, but my physio told me my feet overpronate. Thanks in an advance, love information you're putting out. There's so much misinformation on the internet these days so I'm glad I found your channel.

Thank You Dr. Dave, The quality of sneakers, hiking shoes and hiking boots seem to be deteriorating. You would be great at doing shoe reviews. I think there is a real need for the service. Could expand your audience. If you need wear and tear testers please count me in.
