I'm watching this full thing even though I know most of it. Really great reminder as we tend to fall into old habits.
This is probably the best explanation of how to iterate with AI that I've seen yet. For anything, not just writing.
Really great job.

On a side note, I'm old enough to remember when computers changed everything in all forms of work. Some people adapted and learned, others refused and couldn't be bothered. I feel the weight of needing to learn AI as I did with computers in the 80's. I know a lot of people who didn't and got stuck in very limited opportunities.
Just like then, as it is now, it is not the job of the world to slow down for us. It is for us to keep up with the world. Luddites be damned.

I have to admit, at first I was annoyed that it took forever to get to the actual book writing, but I have to admit that I learned some useful things before you got into it. So thank you!

Another alternative to a completely negative prompt is to provide a This Not That prompt. I have had good success with this method. Sometimes it can be hard to eliminate the unwanted content simply with an opposite positive prompt if the two are not clear polar opposites which are exclusive. "Include ___ rather than ___" is an example of how you can implement this.

Thank you, Jason. I am working on what I hope will be my first novel. This is a lifelong dream, and I believe that your videos will be a great help.

Thanks so much Jason! The only roadblock i hit frequently is using when using chatGPT for fiction writing - often it's self censorship will be triggered at very superficial levels, so will fail to provide requested summaries, line-editing/copy editing feedback, after being "triggered" my work in progress is steeped in life in europe between 1700s and late 1800s and chat GPT does not like some of the realities of life during those times LOL

Wow, Jason!! This video is incredible—so in-depth and extremely helpful! I love how you made a full course that caters to everyone, from beginners to experts. There’s something for everyone here! I've been using ChatGPT for a while, but watching the entire course revealed some hidden gems I didn't know about. You are simply the best (did you sing that part like I did?)! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into sharing this valuable information with us. You're amazing! 🌟

Amazing resources as always. I’ll watch this a few times to glean more. It’s extremely helpful to see the process laid out and how to think about it. It helps to adapt to my own writing style

Could you maybe do a video explaining when to use ChatGPT and when to use Claude?

This video was a breath of fresh air. I've been excited about GPT as a research and creative brainstorming tool but finding way too many videos just blowing smoke up your ass with get rich quick schemes and unethical business practices like drop shipping or plagiarism. You give a lot of helpful practical advice for how to use the thing for brainstorming and improving your prompts that has resonated a lot with my experience using it to create esoteric studies learning materials and other projects.

An interesting layer tweak to some of this, I actually create a character in a world that is a writer. Lets call her "Samantha..." If you know you know.
Giving that AI a personality and life experience which influences her writing. Which I can modify as time goes on as a sort of puppet master. And then have HER do the tasks for a book, script, screen play, game deisgn, etc.
Or to have general conversations with as a writer herself to bounce ideas off of. It takes the Identity section he does here to another level.

First and foremost, thank you for these incredible videos! Your work has inspired me to start writing again. I realize your expertise is in the realm of fantasy and adventure, but have you ever considered “actually” writing a book about food addiction? Just curious.

Any insight on how to tell if you're getting output from version 3.5 or 4o when you're on a free plan? I thought when they first rolled it out that there was some indication, since the 4o access is limited, but now I don't see anything. Do you get a notification when 4o usage is temporarily depleted?
