Going to be honest. Yuko Komiyama and Norihiko Hibino are AMAZING composers, made some awesome music over the years. But the orchestral stuff here, even if it references classic Contra music, doesn't sound particularly exciting/kind of generic/reminiscent of Marvel movies. I do get it's hard to follow up Jake Kaufman's Contra 4 soundtrack, Daisuke Ishiwatari's Hard Corps: Uprising OST, and Akira Yamaoka's Shattered Soldier OST, but I'll hold out hope that later stages have a bit more energy.

I still prefer the soundtrack from the older games! The soundtrack for OG sounds too "cinematic" or "orchestral" for a lack of better words.

Yeah, the music in this game it needs something different. Get away from the "Hollywood" sound and go with something more, retro sounding. This IS a game that came out in the '80s.. The composer should have concentrated on making the tracks sound retro, or synthed up possibly rather than going with what sounds like a 2024 Hollywood movie. The trouble with Hollywood is orchestral music is starting to sound generic. It doesn't have soul or memorable melodies within. This music needs to come from the heart.. not because someone wants a paycheck.

Last I checked, Bill and Lance didnt carry around M41 Pulse Rifles from Aliens movie lol. but good try there. I'll let it pass. 2 women in the game- nah. They weren't in original games, and no reason for them to be in these except for PC Ballwashing Virtue Signaling again.
