Since the conclusion of “Hardcore Pawn”s final season in 2015, Les has moved on from the show, but certainly hasn’t shied away from the cameras. I met Les last year in Florida randomly. He was super friendly and took a picture with me.

Went to their shop about 10 years ago. They had a whole bunch of junk in the direct center of the place. It reminded me of the living room on Sanford and Son.

I met Les way before he had his show. I had no idea who he was. I worked at home depot in livoina Michigan and we were having a major sales event. We were selling all kinds of clearance and reconditioned power tools from paint dept lawn and garden hardware etc. A few stores sent us all their junk as well. A lot of that stuff was just junk. Everything was like 70% off. Anyway I worked in paint dept. And Les was asking me about how many sprayers we had and power washers. He was going through the whole store before the day of the sale. He offerd the store manager he would buy everything of he got a 90% discount. I remember the manager laughed in his face and said " not a chance" . Les said thank you and left. Then not long after I seen he had a tv show. I dont remember the year this happened '01 or maybe '02.

In 2015 I was in LA sitting in LAX getting ready to fly back to Ohio. I was on the phone with my Dad and all of a sudden I look up and Les was standing at the check in desk. I ran over to say hello and he shook my hand and said hello to my Dad too. I remember asking him when the new season was going to start and he told me as he was walking away October. So idk what happened, but that was in August. It was cool meeting Les. He was a nice guy.

I really liked the show when it was on. Just a month ago started watching reruns. Had a problem with Ashley being so rude. I think she had anger issues couldn’t get along with anybody. Another thing was some of those people hired to come in and act a fool?

I remember initially hearing about Hardcore Pawn by my dad and my first thought was “it’s a poor man’s Pawn Stars”. However, it’s a legit business that existed for decades before their television exposure and the cast consists of an actual family that are running a legitimate business. Pawn Stars is more centered on telling history. Hardcore Pawn is centered on drama and challenges while telling some history. Just because both families are in the pawn business and they have (well, had) their own television series doesn’t mean Hardcore Pawn was copying Pawn Stars. They both work in the same business but their television products are very different. I personally like both shows a lot but I could rewatch Hardcore Pawn more so than Pawn Stars because of the entertainment value. And yeah, both shows are staged. So what? All that matters is whether it entertains.
