Road from Atyrau to Aktau - Scenic video - Roads of Kazakhstan

Показать описание
The route A-33 and stretched for almost 800 kilometers along the Caspian Sea and most of the route from Atyrau to Aktau passes through it.
The road passes through the semi-desert and steppe regions of the country, along it you will hardly find trees and high vegetation, as well as full-flowing rivers. Traffic on the highway is complicated by the fact that full coverage of mobile communications has not yet been provided. According to my subjective observations, about 60% of the entire distance you will not have either voice communication or the Internet.
One of the main dangers for drivers on this route is camels, so it is not recommended to move along it at night.
The A-33 motorway received its current number in 2011. This is a road of strategic importance, as it connects the city of Aktau - Kazakhstan's only port city on the Caspian Sea and an important industrial and oil center - with the rest of the country.
Roadside infrastructure facilities are concentrated in settlements such as Dossor, Beyneu, Kulsary, Shetpe and near them. The road along its entire length has a good asphalt surface and low traffic. There are chain filling stations in Dossor, Kulsary, Beineu and Shetpe. Personally, when I was driving to Aktau, I refueled in Atyrau, then replenished the tank in Kulsary and in Beineu, I could have reached Beineu without refueling, but did not take risks
A-33 originates in the city of Dossor and ends in Aktau, runs through the desert of Western Kazakhstan. The road passes through impressive places, such as the famous Manata pass and the Karakiya depression.
Karakiya (Karagie) is a depression on the Mangyshlak peninsula near the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, about 50 km from the city of Aktau. The deepest dry depression in Kazakhstan and one of the deepest in Asia (132 m below sea level).
The name of the depression is associated with the Turkic karakia, where kara is “black” and kiya is “steep slope”, which very accurately reflects the nature of this steep depression. According to another version, the name in translation means "black mouth".
The second name of the depression - Batyr - originates from the Turkic tribal name Batyr
