I’m strangely happy he’s gone to Arsenal even though I’m not an Arsenal fan. He has been hugely loyal and respectful to West ham and he deserves an opportunity to reach his full potential. Chelsea, City, United were all descent options, but Arsenal and Rice feel like they are on the same phase of the journey. Best of luck to him.

As a Liverpool fan I’m jealous of Arsenal. Not because they’ve got Rice but because they’re showing ambition. Something Liverpools owners severely lack.

Promise you, as a West Ham fan, he’s absolutely amazing, both on and off the field.

I think this signing is a win for the entire league, it’s shown that there are players out there who won’t just see City being interested in them and instantly put down tools and sign for them. It really started to feel like City COULD just sign whoever they like by throwing in an extra 20 million and double the players wages. What a signing!

As an Arsenal fan, I do think Declan Rice is a very good player, but I’m withholding my opinion on his talent until I get a good look at how he slots into this team .. but what I know for sure, is that he is EXACTLY what we need in terms of physicality. He’s a heavyweight, he’s combative, and he has a superpower when he charges like a freight train from deep to push his team up the pitch when they are under pressure.

Owners deserve a lot of credit. Since they took 100% ownership they’ve shown they are committed. £200mil spent even before July starts shows they are committed and I didn’t think that would be the case a decade ago

He dodged a bullet not going to Chelsea. Yeah Chelsea are looking back in the action with their sales and signings but Arsenal are a coherent project with young squad and I think he'll love playing football with that group of players: That's got to be valuable as much as the "mullah is in the coolah".

I think Rice will thrive under Arteta. Good commentary Mr. Goldbridge, balanced and perspicacious. You can't always be right but you can be wrong for good reasons and more right than wrong too.

Gutted Arsenal have managed to sign him but fairplay to them, awesome signing. Can't believe they only really had City as competition for him in the end. It's way too much money of course but West Ham could aways charge silly money. Hell of a price tag to have hanging over your head but he seems like the kind of guy that won't let that sort of thing get to his head.

I've said it before. Three of Kroenke's other professional teams have recently won a championship in their respective leagues, and the other two, Arsenal and the Denver Nuggets, are very close. I thought the Kroenkes would splurge on Arsenal this offseason to get us over the top, and they have.
