My understanding is that when they say the rear being narrower increases forgiveness it’s referring to the compliance of the wheel itself, not the tire. So instead of running a narrower XC tire in the rear on the same rim as the front and having it be overly stiff you get a more matched feel. Just my thought.

I have been riding enve wheels for 12!years road and mountain with internal nipples and I have never had any of my 8 sets the need to be true, stayed true and so far still stayed true.

Also is the Rick XC front or rear specific or do you use it on both?

I think their philosophy with a narrower rear wheel is to make the tire ”higher” - essentially so it has more room to squish? Still feel like its the wrong way to do it, It I guess they have to try some new stuff. Also these are over $3k in Europe, probably wont sell many of them here

i just got a a set of these today. haven’t tried them yet. I realized they don’t come w torque caps nor are they on enve’s website . Did you just run them without? i called enve about this and am waiting a call back. 🤷‍♂️

I can build a wheel and have the spokes not touch, but I thought that was the wrong way to do it. Damn, I have like 6 sets of wheels I need to rebuild now...😢

For me, Enve lost most of their wheel cache when they stopped using Chris King hubs. That made them special.
