Thrift stores and flea markets are gold mines if you have a bit of knowledge. I once found a large photograph in a very old ornate frame in a Goodwill. The photograph was of a union officer. They obviously didn't know who he was because it was dirt cheap. Who was he? It was a very young George Armstrong Custer when he was just a Colonel. I still have it hanging in my home office.
