Industry and Livestock ministries to work together to improve leather industry

The government is looking to streamline collaboration between the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Livestock with a view to improving the performance of the leather industry.
Stakeholders in the industry have decried fragmentation of oversight roles with supervision of the quality of hides and skins placed under the Ministry of Livestock while the operation of businesses is under the Ministry of Industry.
