Revell 1:72 He 111 H-6 (Part 1)

I've really wanted to build this one for a while now. It's a Hasegawa kit, or as it's affectionately called the Revellgawa kit.

The best bargain Revell-gawa kit in my opinion is the Revell reboxing of the 1/72 Hasegawa Saab J35 J / OE Draken, where Revell is charging half the price or less, for the same kit as in the Hasegawa box, but with more decal options.. :) Unfortunately I don't think Revell will re-issue that kit again, so the only chance of finding them now will be in places like evil-bay or model shows.. :P As for this kit, the Heinkel, it looks like another gem, it sure has some nice detail.  I hope I will get my Italeri kit(s) built later this year.. :)

Did you make the canopy masking yourself and if you did ...great job, you have nice skills and a lot of patience. Where in Canada are you from??? If its relaesed by Revell at least its not at the Hasegawa price, I wonder how it will compare with the new Airfix He 111. It looks like it goes together pretty well. You could mask the gondola before applying the flat coat. I enjoyed the vid.

Well done there, nice cockpit! For the masks on the canopy, do you just place tape down and cut around the edges to get the glass piece sealed?

hi! you mentioned requests for tutorials etc. so is there any chance of you showing us how you masked that canopy? i have a whole bunch of german WW2 bombers in my stash (dornier 17, junkers 86, heinkel 111) so any advice on masking techniques would be GREATLY appreciated!

Wait wait I thought the H-6 wasn't used in the Battle of Britain if you want that is of that time era wouldn't get an earlier He-111 H model like an H-2 or an H-3.

Do you cut the masks yourself, or do you buy pre-cut ones? If you cut them yourself, do you have any tips for getting the shapes right? Everytime I try to mask I end up making a mess of it and just hand painting later. Thanks!

Whaa? How can anyone _not_ like Hasegawa kits? So does Revell print their own decals and just use the Hasegawa molds? Do you dip your canopies into Future?

Tamiya enamels are alright. They are the exact same colors as their acrylics, so there isn't the same variety of colors as you get from Testors' standard and Model Master enamels.

can I give u advice in making seat. I had my Boeing-Stearman and to make seats look more realistic i put wet hygienic tissue - it was 3 layers and I apart it and used only one. It'sstick to seat and also i glued it little bit at soem parts and then it was kinda wrinkled. You can play a lot with weathering.when its wrinkled  hygienic tissue can very good imitate leather. in those small models
