I've never did that...I also didn't know that this was a thing.
Everyone who calls us also wants to talk in this moment 🤷🏽‍♀️

Like my German parents in law saying to me that they will be available Wednesday or Sunday at 6:00 pm sharp and as a Brazilian I can’t be late!!By the way, I am a Brazilian Brant 🥰

Scammer/spammer #1 calls, you answer with your last name, they say sorry wrong number.

Scammer/spammer #2 calls a few days later saying Hello Mr. this is your public utility company just want to verify your home address.

And this goes on and on until they have enough information to pose as your bank or financial institution, create credit cards in your name, or other identity theft crimes.

Best to just answer hello.

Scheduling a rendezvous with someone at say, 15:30 as the person said, is not uncommon. At least where I’m from. I like to use 24-hour time as it spares an extra two letters (AM/PM), and we even use quarters like 15:15/15:45, for instance…

Is anybody going to talk about the fact he had two phones and kept switching between them and holding the phones at different orientations?

I must ask from the duolingo representation do Germans picnic and hike all the time?

Answering with last name is for landlines only. On cellphone, most Germans just say "Hallo??" or something to that effect.
