Mary's character arc from crying manipulative woman-child to scared voice of reason has been harrowing to watch. Like 2 weeks ago she was literally having a mental breakdown any time Brandon looked at something shaped like a female and now she can't bring herself to accept his proposal bc now she realized her mistake and how immature they both were, and he now still is. It's an incredible thing to watch in real time and I wish it didn't involve a real innocent child who literally is just getting dragged into a slow motion car wreck in front of the world.
