I got the job! I actually had all three of my interviews the same day. The first question they asked me was, what do you know about Costco? Because of the tips from this video, I did my research, and my interviewers were blown away. One of them said, wow, you are one of the first people I've interviewed in a while who actually knew more than the basics about Costco.

I just got the JOB!
During the 3rd interview, I managed to capture the attention of my building manager by discussing my research on Costco and how my skills align with the company. My building manager was so impressed that he set aside my resume and focused solely on our conversation. The interview was only two questions before it was over. I mentioned Costco's code of ethics, employee turnover, Jim, Costco's annual report, and vertical integration. I am now waiting for my orientation which is in a few days.
Lets go!! Awesome video

here is what I remember them asking:
- why Costco? / what do you know about Costco?
- what can you bring to Costco?
- describe a time you had a conflict with a customer
- have you ever worked in a fast-paced environment? if so, talk about what it was like
- describe a time you had to complete a task with a sense of urgency, how did you handle it?
- describe a time you had to take responsibility for a mistake you made on the job

they start the interview off by going over your personal info, giving job descriptions, pay rates, and stuff like that. they might ask general questions about your current job/education. then they will ease into the questions I mentioned above. takes about 30 minutes. disclaimer, it might be different at your location, but this is how it was at mine.

I interviewed this month for seasonal/Holiday work which starts in October. I was only asked #1 and #5. They wanted people who can work nights, weekends: Wednesday through Sunday. I mentioned things I knew about Costco through talking to current employees so that may be why I didn't get asked #4. - I am waiting on my orientation date now.

I had my interview earlier today and it went super well! Thanks for this video! It helped make me feel less nervous and anxious walking into the interview. One piece of advice would be to talk about COMMUNICATION. The manager loved that.

I also moved on to the second interview! Wish me luck!

I hadn't seen this video six years ago when I interviewed but I instinctively used many of the points mentioned here. One thing I did do - that was unusual - is I brought a pitch book with me. It had pages about me and about Costco. Large type, few words per page, easy to read (i.e. "Boy Scout Leader - 8years". And with Costco I had their Five Principles and their Rights of Marketing - and more.

it took four interviews and a phone call from Issaquah, WA but yeah i got on board. so weird to see prep videos on yt. just be yourself i know it’s cliche but either you can show up and be a friendly helpful person or you just won’t fit in. i love everything from the brutalist architecture to the members themselves. when they interview you they’re assessing you absolutely. i met with my department manager first, then her and the GM, then her again, then a phone interview. obviously routine drug and background checks. took about 3 months. always wanted to work here. it’s essentially my retirement plan.

it’s not just “getting hired” though. be an ethical friend; energetic, sense of urgency, no does not exist in your vocabulary, be ready for a daily workout like scrap your gym membership, and just fit in I guess.

your prep vid was pretty spot on tho yah I was asked many of those same questions.

I have an interview in T-Minus 2 hours, wish me luck! I’ll update you on the questions asked after it’s all said and done. It’s for seasonal, but I have friends that work there that gave me some info.
