Grooves That Keep Your Gig. Here is Two & One Skip Groove 8. The Two & One Skip is created when we combine the Two Skip and One Skip Grooves together. This gives us two skip notes between the backbeats and one skip note at the end wrapping back to the beginning. Hence the name Two & One Skip Grooves. These are my "go to" grooves. It creates a bouncy feel that really makes the groove come alive. This is commonly played on the snare, as demonstrated in this video, but can be played on any sound surface on your drum set. Notice how I'm playing the skip notes with a very low stroke. This results in a soft hit that is called a "ghost note".
