All-in-one Sports VR Review

One of the best things to play on VR is sports. As one of the leading titles in the category, how does all-in sports VR stack up?
It has ten different sports, I will go each sport later in the video. First the general gameplay,

Gameplay

You can play against AI or online. But there is a severe lack of online players. Playing multiplayer with your friends is difficult as you each need your own Pico 4. The thirteen sports are Baseball, Archery, Table Tennis, Basketball, Bowling, Badminton, Golf, Dart, Billiard, Boxing, Squash, tennis, volleyball.

You have 5 levels to progress through with each sport.

The experience of playing all in one sports VR compared with Wii sports resorts, VR no doubt adds to the experience particularly for …

Baseball

You can practice batting or play a match.
In the match, you can both bat and pitch for this game

Pitching takes time to get use to. You pitch a lot of balls.

Batting is easier and love scoring a home run.

Batting practice is surprisingly fun, you have to hit the ball as far you can and get point. You get extra bonus aiming at certain hoops that appear. There is a wide world leaderboard.

I’m not a huge baseball fan and therefore this won’t be one of my go to sports.

Archery

Archery is a straight shootout between you and another competitor. The wind plays a crucial part as well as having a very steady hand. It is very sensitive to movement.

This game is surprisingly fun and satisfying.

Table Tennis

This is one of the best games on all-in sports.

It is first to 11 and you can spin the ball. Serves are hard to execute. You can aim precisely.

Basketball

Is rubbish. You just shot from different angles into the basket. I don’t feel the accuracy is very realistic either.

Bowling

Make sure you have lots of space for this. You have to wait for AI, which is a joke. Gameplay is ok. I feel the graphics could be better.

Badminton

It is first to nine. It is only singles and not doubles. There is not much variety in the shot type as well as it is hard to serve short. You automatically move rather than move yourself, therefore not feeling a truly immersive experience.

Golf

You only have 9 holes to play and you pick which one to play rather than a round.

It is slightly too realistic as it is super frustrating but fun to play.

Darts

I don’t think darts works in this format. I doubt Luke littler will be practicing doing this.

You start 301 and work down from there. You have to wait for AI to finish before you play the next set of darts. But most importantly throw that subscribe button!

Billiard

It isn’t Billiards. It is 8 ball pool. You need quite a bit of space to play. You need to be still to aim and complete the shot.

Boxing

Three options, heavy bag, beat boxing and a match.

Heavy bag is more like target practice. Hitting different parts of the bag.

Beat boxing - there is no music so more like sparring. With objects to hit and duck out the way.

Match. This is the best bit of boxing, you can block, dodge and punch. You have to knock the other person out.

Squash

First to 6. There are power up if you hit certain spots on the wall. It is a reasonable representation of squash although the gameplay is quite simple.

Tennis

First to 2 games. Power ups are available, you have to aim through hoops to get this. Game play is easy to pick up and fun. You have the ability to spin the ball which is cool.

Volleyball

A new additional to the game. It is first to 6. The gameplay doesn’t flow and it feels slightly staged. The shot type is chosen for you.

Power ups are available if you time it perfectly.

I didn’t find volleyball that enjoyable.

Should you get it?

In general, the graphics could be better, it feels like a non-VR game has just be converted without adding much.

It is fun but I don’t feel it uses the VR potential to the maximum.

More online opponents are needed.

I really like some sports, like boxing or table tennis. However, you may be better off buying creed: rise to Glory for boxing or Eleven Table Tennis for table tennis if you are a big fan of either sport.

There are only 5 levels per sport which you can quickly navigate through meaning the gameplay doesn’t change or progress that much.

It is fun to play and you get a lot of sports to choose from. For most sports fans, I would...
