How to: Clean an exhaust from inside!

This time no racing but a how to video.

NOTE: This was just for fun, don't take it too serious

In this short video you can see how you can clean an exhaust from the inside. With this method you don't have to open the exhaust! We were just a little creative. And yes it looks like a flamethrower

Steam cleaning will clean it out very well, but make sure to dry it out with a heat gun afterwards to get rid of moisture or water, which makes mild steel exhaust rust, especially from the inside, but outside is also impacted by rust as well.

I'd imagine it would've looked 10 times worse inside. The only way to truly clean it out would be to use a long type of pipe cleaner and be rigourous and patient or to apply a high amount of heat at one end to literally burn out any carbon. All he was doing there was achieving a dirty yellow flame at the other end which was purely being fueled from the flammable spray he squirted inside. Daft.

It works better if you plug one end and fill it up with gas and let it sit upright for 72 hours, then pour out the gas, light the end that was plugged and blow as hard as you can through the other end.

You can get a tote box fill it with distilled white vinegar and some water let it soak and then spray it out it will clean it out good.

This does burn off or at least loosen some carbon build-up, but should be followed up with a pressure wash and/or long bristle brush used to clean out a dryer or plumbing pipes.

you do realize nothing on the inside is actually burning right? all your doing is spraying whatever it is your spraying into one side and just burning it on the other side.. you cleaned absolutely nothing inside the exhaust, just wasting energy and time..

combustion will only happen in the presence of oxygen, which you push out by spraying in the other end of the exhaust

you just made a fancy aerosol flamethrower, no flames inside whatsoever
