The AEM VCU275 is the latest addition to our line of programmable electric vehicle control units replacing the VCU200 used in custom high performance electric vehicles and custom EV conversions. The new VCU275 still offers all of the same great features and competitive pricing of the VCU200 but now supports dual motor applications along with the ability to support battery systems of up to 1200 volts when paired with the AEM BMS-18 Battery Management System.

AEM’s Vehicle Control Units (VCUs) are the missing link for high-performance EV street-conversion and motorsports applications. They allow the calibrator to create customized torque management strategies applicable to a wide range of EV systems and component combinations. They integrate EV systems and unify the tuning experience providing

It would be nice to have a VCU for a Tesla that controls the BMS and motor drive units, cooling and charging but still keeps the rest of the vehicle systems in place. The ability to tweak the motor, cooling stability and traction control parameters or turn some systems fully off would be a game changer.

So that’s why the VCU200 has been discontinued. Will the 275 support more BMS satellites than the 200? Will it support parallel packs for more range? I have e a VCU200 but would upgrade if it improves the BMS configurations.

Could this be used as part of a plug-in hybrid system? Have this control a front-mounted electric motor whilst still having a combustion engine?

Would this be compatible with two Eluminator motors and two Ford inverters? Or would the inverters have to be aftermarket ones from say Cascadia?

This is neat and all but does this sort of invalidate the vcu200 for those that already have one? Should I just junk it and get a vcu275?

Or is this more of a minor upgrade the adds a few key features on top of the 200?

The brochure is saying it supports up to 1200v with the bms-18 but is that still limited to 6 bms units (1 master 5 satellites) like the 200 or does it kt allow way more satellites now?
