It'd be cool if there were a vanilla update with gliders; possibly crafted with like leather/phantom wings, sticks and iron nuggets/tripwire hooks. Kinda like an early elytra, but still keeping the incentive by making the glider a hotbar item that can't adjust altitude or be rocket powered like the elytra can.
