During the rapid eye movement (REM) sleep stage, you're likely to have dreams. The brain prevents muscles in your limbs from moving to protect yourself from acting dreams out and hurting yourself. Sleep paralysis happens when you regain awareness going into or coming out of REM.🥰🥰🥰✌✌✌

I've suffered with severe sleep paralysis for over 30 years now & it's terrifying 😳 I also have narcolepsy cataplexy syndrome too. I see the dark figure in the room etc but I've just learned to live with it now, some nights are worser than others and it can happen multiple times a night too and it really does take it out of you both physically & mentally too.

I've had sleep paralysis many times but it is literally just the paralysis. I've never seen anything scary, it's literally just me being asleep but awake and unable to move, it feels helpless like if I don't wake up and move ill be stuck there forever and just die. It's a crazy feeling but I'm glad that I don't have to worry about fighting off demons aswell 😱

I get sleep paralysis frequently. Often it’s the same dream, my boyfriends had the same dream too.

Ite normally when I sleep on on my back and i can hear my front door open, it’s always locked on a night, followed by plates smashing and objects being thrown around downstairs followed by screaming and swearing.
We have an old house with creaky floorboards. I can hear footsteps coming down the hallway and up the stairs, followed by a faint whisper ‘I’ll find you’.
Then it goes silent for a minute and I try my best to scream in my sleep but no sound ever comes out.
Then I hear my windows open and knocking on a wall followed by a high pitched ‘got you!!’ And I can feel it sitting on the end of my bed

It’s seriously awful.

When I was in my early 20s I worked at a stressful and harrowing dining hall at a liberal arts school. With such long hours and not much sleep I gaslighted myself for years after my first time experiencing sleep paralysis. After a thirteen hour shift I came home, took a shower, and then lights out. A few hours later I woke up, or so I thought. I had covered my comforter over my face but I could feel something over me. Still not lucid, I could hear my sleep music skipping repeatedly on my radio. I couldn't move, speak, or even react when I felt my whole body lift from the bed. I felt like I was in freefall, smashed into the walls of my bedroom before landing hard on to my bed. After a few minutes I finally relaxed enough to go back to sleep. When the morning finally came there was no evidence that I had been pinballed around the room. However, the cd was still skipping.

I have a nuerological condition that causes my brain to wake before I can hit rem sleep. It causes me to be able to move and I walk around. My mom recorded me when I was younger for the doctor. I talked to what I saw were ghosts. The creepy part was I answered back in a weird voice as if I was the ghost and myself. I also am able to sing very well in my sleep like Janis Joplin. I drew very realistic drawings while sleep walking as well. I remember watching myself drawing and I woke up laying in our dogs bed. My mom kept the drawings and gave them to me when I moved out. She thought it was amazing I was able to do that in my sleep. I have lucid dreams instead of normal dreams as well. I got diagnosed with a known nuerological condition when I was 13 in 1993. I have seizures and it causes my sleeping problem. A few days before a seizure I have episodes. Sleep paralysis is part of my sleep walking, it takes awhile for me to fully wake up and I can't move for 20 minutes. I never see or hear anything creepy though. I am not scared, I knew what was happening because I had always had the episodes. I was two years old when I had my first episode. It lasts a week. Everytime I go to sleep it will happen for the whole week. Stress causes it. I learned how to meditate to deal with stress and I have less episodes.

I get sleep paralysis a couple times a year and I found it does eventually work if you focus on just moving a hand ✋ as soon as it moves air rushes into my lungs as I sit up, I sympathise with anyone who has this weird sleep disorder as its very scary even if you don't see demons in the room I feel like I'm being suffercated by my sheets and I can see but it's as if I'm wearing someone else's glasses all blurry n distorted.

I've also had a demon encounter with a lil sleep paralysis which lead me to believe exposed wood has something to do with the spiritual world. I looked up towards a piece of plywood and seemingly projected from the wood was a gaunt shadow person almost skeletal i woke up a lil more and it felt like something was biting on my guts...
Have had a few weird cases of dreams with feelings that linger into full consciousness, like a strange dream where i knew there was a dog in this tunnel thing and banged on the tunnel to provoke it but upon waking myself it still felt like the dog was chewing on me while wide awake.

The spiritual world is bizarre. Thank god for his light protects us and heals damage caused by spiritual beings.
