During training I would advise to stay off AP as much as possible unless you have to reach for something in the back or something like that where your hands won't be on the controls. Manually flying the plane is great for muscle memory, actively scanning the instruments and just actually flying the plane. When you get into IFR (my instructor forbid me to turn on AP). It can get very busy and that's ok, you will get busy times in the cockpit so it's good to get used to it!

Something l learned from my own GoPro flight videos is get a lens ND filter. Especially for the camera you’ll have faces the front windshield/gauges. REALLY cleans up glare and overexposure issues from the gopro and takes out almost any need for editing. I use Polarpro. They’re great.

Hi Trent - great stuff. I think the amount of commentary was just right actually. We all want to see what you are doing but also understand you need to stay safe up there ;) Keep em coming - this is super helpful for me as I start my journey to PPL and beyond.

Your channel is awesome! Good for you for going for it! I’m 42 (at the end of the month) and want to go for my Commercial along with all the ratings. I got my PPL 22 years ago and have unfortunately not flown since. I was worried that I’d be too old to try and fly for a career. It’s extremely encouraging to see other people going for it!! I’ll be following your adventures. Your videos are great!! Fly safe!

Awesome video! I’m still earning my PPL right now. My first solo was a bit rough so I still have a bit of nerves when it comes to the cross country’s coming up. These definitely made me realize I’ve been overthinking it. Thank you!

That's a really nice plane! Most of the flight schools I have been looking at have some old planes. Can you recommend some flight schools with newer equipment?

Wasn’t sure for a while what I would be happy doing as far as a career goes, but I’ve always been infatuated with aviation since a little kid. I’m 27 now and looking into how I become an airline pilot👍🏼 love this content and something about being up in the air flying looks so peaceful!

Man. Jealous of the super nice trainer you’re flying. Makes my old steam gauge 172 look like junk. Lol.
Keep the videos comin man. Loving it

Excellent video for XC! One thing I'd recommend: When making your calls at a non-towered field end it with the field name. Foobar traffic.. blah blah blah.. Foobar.

Great cross country Flight, I just did my 150 NM recently for Private Pilot, really enjoyed watching, keep us up to date on your progress!

Nice flight, with all the new glass inst., you are basically flying a semi- IFR plan. Not like it was in 84, flight plan, manual flight, Sec maps all over the dash, & Fore Flight. You and the AC make it look so easy now. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫🤪🤪🤪

I was born in Toledo and grew up in Perrysburg just south of Toledo so it’s awesome to see you flying your solo cross county there. Could you give some thoughts on the DA40 and if you had previous experience in it? Love the videos!

I’m a Rusty pilot too. Just crossed 80 hours on my come back. I was worried and set high minimums on my comeback too.
