Awesome review Adam. I personally like the "lose your stuff at the point where you last died" mechanic, but I guess that should be expected of a die-hard Souls fan. I wouldn't say it discourages exploration so much as I'd say it makes new scenarios threatening and gives a sense of risk and weight to a game's difficulty. Just as long as there isn't anything that abuses the system too egregiously, and there's a fair amount of checkpoints
