For too long, the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 families have had it all their way. BUT what if Embraer were to throw their hat into the ring? Could they really bust the duopoly and add some much needed competition to the space?

I am Brazilian, and I would really like to see Embraer soaring in the skies, competing with the two giants.

Embraer has been doing something I think no other manufacturer has: building their new planes within budget, and schedule. This alone means they can do this faster, and cheaper than anyone else. I can´t see them missing this chance.

Iam so glad that Embraer came in competition. Airbus needs a competitor to keep producing great aircrafts. And whenever there is a competition Airbus will keep maintaining its quality and safety. All the best Embraer.

As a portuguese Airbus "fan", i'm glad the Brazilians finally are starting to compete! Embraer didn't got to where it is by chance! Great planning, development and quality are the skeleton they've been building for decades, and i'm glad they're getting the reckognition they deserve! I can only hope they stick to their core vision and that they're here to stay for many, many more years to come!❤

I'm quite sure Embraer have the engineering prowess to develop an outstanding mainline narrowbody. Their track record is good. They don't get into endless project-mongering and deliver their projects on-time and on-budget.

I have to say, those Brazilians are kicking butt! Good on 'em!

I find it hilarious that Boeing is saying they're not replacing the 737 just yet because engine technology isn't ready. They said that in the 90's when they made a third 737 generation instead of a new plane. And then when the new engine WAS ready, they didn't want to make the new plane, so they made a fourth 737 generation. And now they're saying engine technology isn't ready again. They just went in a huge circle of indecision over 30 years.

Having substantial experience with the Embraer 600, 135, 145 and 195, I’ve been impressed with their AMM packaging.. I have downloaded the AMM’s for these aircraft and it includes EVERYTHING any mechanic or operator would need for maintenance and repairs. The 600, 135 and 145 are high performance and are fast, reliable and easy to fly, easy to maintain and easy to operate in a fleet.
In 2018, in a checkout flight, we left Norton AFB (San Bernardino Intl AirPort and climbed through 12, 000 feet at 3, 000 FPM. Like flying a fighter jet.. at cruise power settings.. at altitude in 3 1/2 minutes.

As an old 15 year Boeing veteran, I say go Embraer go! We need a smaller, nimbler manufacturer to push the two big guys with a high-tech single aisle variant.

As a South american I am always pushing for Embraer. Have seen through the years how they went from turboprops to jets. As a frequent flyer and passenger have noted their quality and flight is as good as other airliners. Hope that their new products such as rear mounted turbo props and the possibility of a new larger single isle making on time at the markets they are aiming. Deus bendiga a Embraer !!!

Bombardier had their own problems, but what Boeing did to them and the c series disgusts me to this day. Boeing truly deserve much of the situation they currently find themselves struggling with.

Love to see an episode on the Mitsubishi plane, why it failed, and maybe future prospects for our (Japan) reentry into the commercial jet market.

As an Embraer E195-E2 pilot I would love to see Embraer expand their offerings! They have lot's of potential and the airplane has been great to fly.

One thing I am learning is that the engines are as critical in aviation innovation as are the fuselages. I’d like to know more about the 15:00 engine manufacturers.

Always had a softspot for Embrears even when I still was a child reading books about aviation. My first glider instructor started his commercial carear on the Brasilia. He once took me and my father with me to the airport to have a look at the cockpit. That`s 30 years ago by now and its somewhat cool to see, how Embrear evolved in that time. Some competition for Boeing and Airbus can´t hurt, so let`s see, where Embrear is heading.
