Great video Matthew! Your LMOP series taught me how to DM my first campaign and I've been excitedly waiting for this series to drop. I don't implement every idea you suggest - chapter 3 is larger for my group for instance, but your advice and ideas have inspired me, given me a lot of structure and gave me the confidence to do things my own way so even when I don't do what you say your fingerprints are on my campaign. PERFECT timing. I’m starting this campaign next week. Our group got so big that we split into two and I rotate them every other week.

I’m home brewing SKT in a way that both groups will play in the same universe (one going to Triboar, another going to Bryn Shandor) and see the dynamic effects that happen from the other team.

Idk. Gonna be fun. LOL

Point 6 is KEY. Nothing better than giving your friends’ characters a special moment. Hopefully they don’t die :, )

I've played in the first couple of levels of this campaign twice before both times it diverted into a homebrew that then fizzled just as quickly. So I'm looking forward to hearing your breakdown of it.

I feel like The pod cast Adventure zone uses battle companions well. It allows the DM to throw the group into what seems to be a far more dangerous situation than they can handle, and brings the party to a dire situation, but the battle companion is there both times I have noticed this happen to be essentially the turning point in the fight, either by stepping in themselves or passing on an item that is able to flip the fight.
