I think the Kappamaki got it’s name from a Japanese creature also known as yokai called the Kappa and the kappa is a creature who drown people. And he loves cucumber.

From someone who works at a high-end sushi and Izakaya establishment in the Northeast, please work on your pronunciation. You otherwise come off as patronizing and ignorant if you decide to inflect every Japanese word with an American accent. Food for thought (no pun intended).
