Have you ever tried to import a graphic into Microsoft Powerpoint, only to discover the areas of the image you expected to be transparent have been replaced by a solid white background?
In this episode, Colin shows how to export Adobe Illustrator graphics with transparency using the Portable Network Graphics (PNG) format.

Things have probably moved on a bit since 2014 (especially with powerpoint) but really easy way to do this now - especially if you are creating the PP alongside Illustrator:
1. Select your graphic within illustrator and hit CTRL+C.
2. Click into powerpoint and hit CTRL+V (copy and paste)
That's it - you should still have your transparency.
It doesn't work if you drag your graphic from illustrator to powerpoint - then you'll get that white box.
Hope that helps.
