The Power of An Opportunity | Claudia Urrea | TEDxBarcelonaED

Показать описание
There are 120 million children and adolescents out of the education system! These figures together are equivalent in size to a country like Mexico, which is the 11th most populated country in the world. What do you think will be the consequences on their lives and those of their families? What opportunities are we creating for these children and youth that allow them to change their lives?
This is a call for democratization of opportunities. Opportunities where children and young adults participate in the deciions about what they want to learn, and how to learn it; where they can also learn in community, with their friends, their families, and their mentors; and anywhere with endless possibilities.
Claudia Urrea has over 20 years of experience in the field of Education and Technology. After completing her graduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute Technology, Urrea worked for 1 year at the Interamerican Development Bank as a consultant in the Education Sector, and 5 years at One Laptop Per Child organization as Director of Learning.
