Great explanation - as you sum it up: Anything that makes your brain think you are eating food will stop the MMC - and any kind of artificial sweetener will do this. Furthermore, we should eat in discrete meals, not graze, snack, etc....

What I am wondering about is herbal tea blends drunk between meals, including after dinner? Many of them are incredibly satisfying - no sweeteners listed, but I wonder if the brain might still think we are eating? I especially use Celestial Seasonings Zinger blends - and other brands of blends with ginger, turmeric, etc.

This might be my problem, and could explain why nothing health wise, diet wise, lifestyle wise had worked. I drink green tea with stevia during the day. "Stevia" for thought 🤔

Thank you for this, I’ll move my morning matcha (with stevia) closer to my breakfast time instead of in between meals and I’ll be trying my herbal iced teas plain

Thank you! I have it with my meals in products that contain it.

Nutrition made simple pointed to the following study which he said was by far the highest quality. You thoughts please? "High-dose saccharin supplementation does not induce gut microbiota changes or glucose intolerance in healthy humans and mice "

It's my understanding that if you eat artificial sweetener (classically understood like aspartame) you get an insulin spike. But, if you consume a natural no-calorie sweetener like stevia you do _not_ get that insulin spike. So, doesn't that imply that it doesn't affect the MMC, either? How can the brain be tricked in one way but not another by ingesting the same substance?

Hi. Does salt water or lemon water interrupt mmc?

Do you think that plain sparkling water like Topo Chico messes with the MMC? (I mean 0 calories, only carbonated water) And do you think sparkling water with only “natural flavoring” and carbonated water messes with the MMC (drinks like La Croix)?

Would this also apply to other sweeteners like monk fruit and erythitol?
