The show is inspired by the famous humorous column 'Duniya Ne Oondha Chashma' written by the eminent Gujarati writer Mr. Tarak Mehta. This story evolves around happenings in "Gokuldham Co-operative Society" and covers topical issues that are socially relevant. The show predominantly - revolves around Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) who is an uneducated Gujarati businessman. Tarak Mehta (Sailesh Lodha), is his neighbor. Jethalal finds a friend and philosopher in Tarak Mehta and often goes to him for advice whenever he is in trouble. Jethalal's family includes his simpleton wife Daya Ben (Disha Wakani) and a mischievous son Tapu (Bhavya Gandhi). Tapu is a menace and a constant source of trouble to all the members residing in the Gokuldham Society. They have often warned Jethalal to reform Tapu or else be prepared to leave the premises. I would like to say-- i am living example of these kind of karma and its results... once i had only 200 rupees and i saw one beggar, very old lady asking for food on goregaon railway station mumbai. i ask her what would you like to eat, she was like whatever you like to feed son. i ask her again and feed her, her favorite food from restaurant. now i just had enough money to get back to my home in royal palms where i was living. i was just thinking on the way and after i reach home that how will i survive for next 2 days before my next salary comes. that night from one of my old clothe pocket i found 500 rupees note. un din meri faith bhagwan ke prati even strong ho gai. ki or koi ho na ho, wo zaroor hai mere sath.
