Every year, for the last five years, close to 1500 students have taken admission in Delhi University through sports quota, undeniably the largest number across any other central university in the country. The idea behind admitting students through sports quota is to produce world-class athletes. However, as ThePrint's Kritika Sharma finds out, the University has won only 18 medals internationally in the last five years.

And then comes Cycling which no one even bothers to admit as a sport in our country. It is very sad to see that many professional cyclists work hard and then the mainstream media and publications don't even bother to talk about us.
FYI:- India won gold for the first time in track cycling recently.

Sports quota is a scam..Instead of 1500 only top 100 should be given admission..the remaining 1400 should be merit based..even rahul gandhi was sports quota in st Stephens college..Lol lol

No because it is hard to play and study at the same time. Professors do not care whether you are from sport quota and representing your state or country.
