Good computer games in class could be a distraction for the unruly and disruptive for a few lessons.

First computer I ever saw in grade 4 was a Commodore 64! My school library got a few and put them in a room as a computer lab.

I spent a lot of lunch times there, playing Bubble Bobble and learning to program. I saw someone make a BASIC program that flashed the background random colours and printed a message scrolling up the screen. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen, lol. Had to learn how they did it, so I just memorised it and started tinkering/tweaking it.

It used POKE commands to write a random number into colour memory, a PRINT command for the message, and a GOTO. Pretty straight forward.

For C=64 line art stuff, my favourite thing to do as a kid was to draw a game level by just moving my cursor around the screen and using the line drawing characters. After I drew a level, I would pretend the cursor block was the player character, and would have my friend tell me what to try to do and I would "act it out" with the cursor following the movement rules I had made up (how far you can jump, etc.).

It was like Jumpman 9-Year-Old Edition, lol. Computers were such a novelty, that it was fun messing around with them.

This is like learning ABC and then building the vocabulary after that. Truly this is ABC of IT or Computer technology.

Blimey your channel exploded. 24k already. Keep up the good work. By the way, if possible, could you get an apple 1 computer for one of your videos?
