well, this explains the events of 1x17 perfectly but you have to admit!
the damage which Cora's abusive parenting caused on Regina's soul, is obvious in this scene and pretty much all the scenes which they interact after Cora was sent to Wonderland.

Sure Snow told Cora about Regina and Daniel, but she was only 10 years old and Cora was a master of deception and trickery. Snow thought she was doing the right thing and helping Regina and Cora fix their relationship, she had no idea how evil Cora was and what she would do.
