I was inspired by this video to get a 5x7 tarp. I have a 9x9 and it is just overkill and a pain in the butt. I pitched the 5x7 today in the park for the first time and it's perfect! I have about 6 inches of room on either end and as you said in the video, for driving rain, I can move one side to the ground. Thanks a million!

Something like this just occurred to me today after seeing adjustable aluminum tent poles for sale. Thought it would be much more efficient to use hiking poles. Glad to see this is a tried-and-true practice!

Good ole taut line hitch was my favorite knot in boy scouts. I saw it in the handbook and it was the first knot I set out to learn, I just saw and valued the functionality and simplicity. I'm looking to get into backpacking again, trying to get some gear without breaking the bank (...or my back from weight), I think the tarp tent could be a winner for me

I’d love to see how you’d do a storm pitch writ winter.

I actually would love a list/explanation of the common knots you use and why. Great videos lately. Enjoying the content.

A small bowline at the end of each guy line would allow you to use the stake as a toggle.

What size is this tarp, it looks rather small?
