5th gear aproach and breaking to carry throu, 3rd for acceleration, at hilltop for stability to 4th carry through chicane, 3rd for acceleration to 4th at downhill, 3rd for acceleration to 5th for aproach and breaking, 3th for acceleration. than strait 2 - 3 - end of 4th than 6th for aproach, breaking to 3rd to carry throu, than 2nd for acceleration to end of 3rd than 5th for aproach. a beauty of manual transmission...

There are frequently comments about the Cayman's gearing and on the public road, there is an element of truth about the ratio's being on the long after all, in many cars of this calibre, it's possible to break most speed limits most of the time by using two, if not, three gears. The footage however demonstrates the car's natural habitat, for which it was evolved. If I'm not mistaken 4th to 137 something & 5th up to 150 ish there are 6 gears and the opportunity to drive above 150 is so it just makes me wonder if given there is (I think) a 6th gear whether there is merit in limiting the car to say 160mph and changing all the gear ratios. Now the Germans on the ring might protest, but if you're doing over 160 you should be on a closed circuit - and a GT4 is your Cayman of choice. However for all those Cayman S & Cayman owners (the vast majority) I do wonder what a car with entirely different gearing more suited to most driving under 120mph (with 6th for those rare autobahn type occasions) would be
