The Israeli-Palestinian collaboration about the struggle for survival of the residents of the Masafer Yatta village group won the Best Documentary Feature award at the 2025 Oscars; The award was reportedly to be presented by actress Gal Gadot but it was ultimately presented by Samuel L. The applause was so unsettling, even from that short clip you could see some 'lightly clapping' and even some who did not even clap. Very disrespectful. If you have political views that's completely fine, but this is an event to celebrate the cinematic work regardless of whatever topic the documentary is raising. So shame on them for not only siding with the oppressors but also for not respecting the winners who worked very hard to deserve the award.

So many only want to focus on October 7th - but dismiss anything Israel has been doing to Palestinians. There are many Christians in the U.S. willing to turn a blind eye to what Israel is doing because it ruins their biblical fantasy. My own mother who is an American Christian MAGA cult member is perfectly ok with Palestinians losing their homes because "God promised them that land." Any religion teaching that stealing, murder, rape, torture, starvation, sexism, bigotry, etc, etc...is ok isn't worth anyone's time reading. And while organized religion and I don't mix well I will stand up for any group that is being abused. I hope the hostages on BOTH SIDES can go back to their homes and I hope we can hold the psychos in all of our governments accountable one day.

Everyone should watch this. It is but a glimpse of the level of degradation the Palestinian people have no choice but to endure. The futility of their position makes your blood boil at the oppression that is forced upon them. The violence and brutality and shameful actions of those who have no sense of morality or care for humanity is witnessed in just a short documentary that there is no way we can even begin to comprehend the reality of living through this on a daily basis. My upmost admiration for the Palestinian people and their resolve to remain in their land and continue to battle through this without the means to fight back other than their faith and their love for their people, the land and their hope for better days. Free, Free Palestine .
