Antonov An-12: Smoking the Vortex Core

As seen from behind, all the props spin anticlockwise. The wingtip vortices spin anticlockwise from the right wing, clockwise from the left.

The interactions between all that spinning air are obviously complex, but the outside right propeller, at least, should enhance the right wingtip vortex, as they are spinning the same way. The wind probably also plays a part, and was light and from left to right.

The right wing vortex develops to look like an aerial tornado, only with a narrow 'tube' of smoke trapped in the low-pressure centre, or core, instead of dust and debris.

Fantastic video especially for a hang glider pilot (me) who often flies close to powered aircraft. That vortex stems stays dangerous for a long time.

Question: is having the props spin in the direction of Vortices efficient or is having props spin against the direction of vortices effictient for the airplane. any one with knowledge, plz shed some light.

In designing the airplane with counter rotating props on each wing, which combination would be better? If seen from the rear of the aircraft, the left prop spin clockwise and right prop spin counter clockwise OR the left prop spin anticlockwise and right prop spin clockwise.? Plz someone enlighten me.
