The problem with "contestar" is that English speakers don't confuse it with "contest" (CON-test), as that is a noun. The confusion is with the verb "contest" (con-TEST), as it does mean "to answer, " but in a much more sharp and disagreeable way, or to disagree entirely when used in transitive. Many Spanish words have English cognates that are rarely used or are archaic. I love these tips otherwise.

Ok, I feel kinda embarrassed cause when I started to learn spanish I always thought BLANCO means BLACK cause you know it resembles BLACK. I couldn't accept that it is actually WHITE for a while.
