Businessman and former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt's Project Liberty in The People's Bid said on Thursday they will make a formal bid to ByteDance to buy TikTok's U.S. assets.

The move comes ahead of a January 19th deadline by which ByteDance has to sell the platform or face a full ban under a law signed by President Joe Biden in 2024.

The move has been sold as in the national security interests of the United States in the alleged case that the CCP and controlling party and communist government of China would have access to American data.

data security has recently been breached and considered most serious. there is no reason to allow tiktok to obtain information freely from users without any sweat. tiktok should stoop operating or disclose all its source codes for scrutiny
