Aabqus tutorial - deep drawing

The material used in our deep drawing analysis is steel with isotropic behavior. The initial position of the punch is taken as 10mm above the sheet. The Deep drawing speed used here is 1 m/sec. The friction between the sheet, the punch and die interface is taken constant as 0.15.
The young modulus E is taken equal to 210GPa and the poisson’s ratio v =0.3. The density is equal to 7800kg/m2.

A mass of 5 kg is attached to the blank holder, and a concentrated load of 10 kN, is applied to the contact surface blank/ holder, the blank holder is then allowed to move only in the vertical direction.

Based on the symmetry boundary conditions, only a quarter of the geometry is modeled

Nice tutorial. I had a question regarding the density of the material that you have specified in the material definition. If I am correct in assuming that the units of mass density for the purposes of this simulation is Kg/(mm)^3, then the mass density inputted should be 7.8E-006. However, in the video(around the time 3:51) the mass density was entered as 7.8E-009, which I think is incorrect by 3 orders of magnitude and can considerably change the results for a dynamic test of this kind where inertial effects cannot be ignored.

At 6:58, why do you use that short time period, only 0.09s? I think it must be over 1s at least when doing deep drawing. Because in real life there is no machine can do deep drawing for 0.09s, Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

Good video. But I have some confusion. But the distance between the bottom surface of the punch and the sheet surface should be about 10 instead of 80 according to your results. And there is no need to apply force on the holder. Instead, I constraint it in the Y direction. Aso I am confused about the mass of the holder. Why I have to assign a mass property on a rigid body?

Nice work. I would like to clarify that since you are using SI(mm) (e.g., density of steel= 7800kg/m3 so you have used 7800E-9) conventions, the point mass has to be in tonne right?. correct me if i'm wrong.

I have a doubt in assigning inertia to the holder. Point mass is applied to the reference point at the centre of the outer edge of the holder. However in the subsequent step, another reference point is created on the holder at a different point. Can you please elaborate on this point? Where is the reference point created and where is the mass assigned?
