The UAMS Department of Emergency Medicine is the front door of trauma care, with the state’s only adult Level 1 Trauma Center. We offer one of the most comprehensive, 24-hour emergency rooms in the state, and are the only medical center in Arkansas to be certified nationally.

The UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute aspires to apply for National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation. NCI designation will provide Arkansas cancer patients with vital options: improved access to clinical trials and new therapies unavailable elsewhere in the state; expanded services through greater access to public and private research grants and other funding; and the expansion of Arkansas as a health care destination through national recognition as a top-tier cancer center.
