My first college theatre performance role was John Silver in a live stage adaptation of Treasure Island. This was back toward the end of 2020 during my freshman year. I’m already a Junior.

It was in the midst of COVID-19 regulations which meant we couldn’t do performances in the theatre on campus because of spacing issues. Instead of doing an online recording of the show which we knew would tank, we came up with the idea of doing it outdoors and have people view it from their vehicles, and collaborate with the local radio to broadcast sound into their vehicles to coincide with what was going on on our improvised set. It’s still my defining role since I got here and the one I feel is most important to me, so I really appreciate stuff like this. Now I can send this to my old crewmates from the show.

P.S: yes, I did have to do the walk.
