I traveled from Dublin to Frankfurt (Arrival at Gate Z12) and Frankfurt (Departure from Z24) to Tirana without having to go through border control and security. Z gates are mostly non-Schengen gates.

I have also traveled from Skopje to Frankfurt (Arrival Z23) and Frankfurt (Departure Gate: B33) to Dublin without having to go through border control. However, I had to go through a security check again. So, if you are bringing any alcohol into your hand luggage, make sure to pack it correctly from the duty-free shop.

Note: B20-B63 and Z gates are Non-Schengen Gates. I hope this helps anyone!

Thanks for this great video and sorry to add another question. My father has a quick stopover 60min stopper at Frankfurt and so I am just trying to work it out for him as it will be quite tight. He lands at B gates from non Schengen country (Scotland) and needs to transfer to Z gates to go on to Singapore, do you know at which points he would have to go through passport control and or security? Also would taking the skytrain between these gates make sense or is the tunnel better? Thanks again!

Hi thank for the good video. My flight is around December, 2022. ill flying from Bangkok, Thailand on Thai Airway arriving 19.05 at a B gate, then i have to transferring to an A gate to go to Bologna, Italy departing 21.00. I have only 1.55 for transfer, is that enough for the tranfer from B to A? Because i have to go through custom and security. Do you have any shortcut way or any recomment to go an A gate in time, this is my first time flying to Europe. Thank you :D

The video was great. It's been a while since I transferred via Frankfurt Airport. My brother is traveling for the first time from Wroclaw, Poland, via Frankfurt to Chicago. His connection time is 1 hour and 20 minutes. Do you have any hints or suggestions that would help him with a smooth transfer at Frankfurt Airport? He will be arriving in Terminal 1 and departing to Chicago from the same terminal.

Wow this is a great series! I see many people ask these questions, so sorry for asking again. We are flying Toronto to Frankfurt (Lufthansa), landing in Concourse/Hall A, and have to go to Concourse/Hall B (also Lufthansa flight). We have about 2 hours to transit. Will have enough time to make our next flight? Do we need to leave air-side and go through security when we land?

I have a flight from bombay to frankfurt at T1 - B22 and then from frankfurt to amsterdam, the trasit time is only 1 hour . As i will be coming from non-schengen area i need to go through border control/immigration and security . is one hour enough to reach to T1- A14. Also which point border control will happen at B gates before taking the tunnel to A gates or at A gate?

Hello. Thanks for the great info. I will be flying from the USA on United arriving at a B gate, then transferring to an A gate to go to Nairobi. Since these are both non-Schengen places, am I correct that I do not need to go through security again? (I'm especially wondering because in the US, I have TSA precheck through which I do not need to have all of my liquids in a small plastic bag. If I need to go through security in Frankfurt, I will need to pack differently.) Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello. Thanks for the video. I am flying in from the US with Lufthansa and connecting to Croatia Air and flying out to Dubrovnik, Croatia. I believe both at Terminal 1 pier A airlines are located at thee same pier. How far is this from the boarder check or immigration terminal?

I am arriving on Condor from Toronto and transferring to Lufthansa to Warsaw, I have 2hr and 20 mins connection, but the flight usually runs behind by 60-90 mins, will around 1 hour be enough time? Do we have to go through customs or security? Do I have to collect by checked baggage or will that transfer automatically (Condor has a partnership with Lufthansa)?

Hi thanks for the video!

I am flying from LCY to Frankfurt to catch my connecting flight to Singapore. Would it be quite a long journey from non Schengen to Schengen?
Also due to my flight being in the afternoon, I’ve scheduled a 2.5 hour layover as hopefully that will cover any delays. Do you think that’s an appropriate amount of time?

Hi, Great video.

I'm flying from Glasgow to SFO via FRA on 13 December landing at FRA at 0900. It's all 1 ticket with Lufthansa. I only have a 1hr 10m transit time. Probably landing at a B (maybe Z if I'm lucky) gate and leaving from a Z gate. Do you think that's enough time and what would be the best way to go from gate to gate? Would I be better walking or taking the Sky Train. Is it just security I need to go through (Non-Shengen to Non-Shengan) or passport control too?

Thanks in advance

I am flying into Frankfurt from the US with Eurowings Discover. I think Eurowings Discover gets into Terminal 1 Gates C Area of the airport. I then board Thai Airways for my flight to Bangkok through terminal 1 Gates B. Can you please share if I need to go through Security or Border Control?

Hi. I am arriving into B gates with a 1:05 connection time from a Z gate.
Will I have to go through any security or immigration checks with the connection?
Also how long do you think it would take to walk from B gates to Z gates like you did? Thanks
