My Family once adopted an old english setter, that was found in the swiss alps and would‘ve put down otherwise.
He spent 4 good years with us, until one day, when we were back in the italian alps (very close to where he was found) he walked out the gate of our house and never returned.
He was a very quiet dog and he barked no farewell. We looked for him for days, the dogs lost his scent not far from the village.
I hope, that this is how he died. Knowing his time had come, without fear, finding rest between the rocks and intense smelling herbs.
This happened when I was a boy and I felt like I had failed him.
This Video brought me to tears, but also „healed“ me.
Rest easy Quintus, or whatever your real name was. You‘ll forever be our fifth!

For me, this song is about reconnecting with the present moment. The present moment is both life and death. It's not about loss, its about connection. In the video, the main character reconnects with Source. This wholesome bond is available to us all, at any point in time. Undoubtedly we've all felt it at one point, even if just in dream. Watership Down is one of those films from my childhood that haunt me. There is something about those 70s/early 80s animations that got to the core of you and then just stuck. Paired with AFX, this couldn’t be better!
The Last Unicorn and Fantastic Planet are others that still stick with me.

Such a beautiful song, because of my older brother he turned me onto them as a teen. I love Aphex twin and I’m now 46 on almost 47 years old… unfortunately my brother and I are now estranged we don’t speak haven’t spoke in several years and it will never happen. it’s bittersweet because this movie was something that we watched so many times together and we shared Aphex twin in common so this really tugs at my heart and to my brother, … if for some reason you ever read this…. I’m sorry for everything and I love you and I miss you more than you will ever know.

Richard (Aphex Twin's real name) is the GOAT of making music. His songs can invoke different meanings and interpretations to people listening to this song. IMO, this song sounds like a lonely day. It can also sound like a slow ballad to dance with your loved ones with. Or it can also sound like your dad playing a lullaby to put you to sleep. Listening to this song made me cry because of how sad and calming this song is. Thank you, Richard, for making these good songs.

I met the kindest most beautiful girl 23 years ago. Since then, I have only ever seen her in my dreams. One dream that was especially vivid I'll never forget. I was walking in a forest and she appeared and we looked into each other's eyes and a thousand words were shared without a single one being spoken out loud. We walked together in a forest of haze for what felt like eternity. It was the happiest time of my life. I never wanted to wake up. When I did wake up from that dream I played this song and it has forever since been inscribed in this masterpiece. Ten years ago this dream occurred. How is it that this video can exist and so perfectly describe something that took place in my dreams.

my dog that helped me get through my grieving of my grandma died 3 months ago and this song reminds me of her. my dog was the first pet i really connected with and me and her were best friends and this song always reminds me of her. Woke up at 3am to this song on shuffle along with other aphex twin songs and I just started bawling and couldn’t control myself. I’m usually the type to hide my emotions very well with people and I tend to cry about lost one’s months later but I just can’t move on. Crying right now as I’m typing this.

This is my favorite song by Aphex Twin. In 2023, Spotify said that I listened to this song 377 times, without skipping. I hope other people get the same feeling as I do from this masterpiece.
