DIAL PUZZLE SOLUTION (in 15 seconds)

Today I'm showing you the Hanayama dial puzzle solution. It's a level 4 out of 6

Firstly, I'm going to show you how to solve the dial puzzle, then I'll show you how to put it back together, finally, we'll have a go at speed solving to see how fast it can be done.

To get it open, you have to follow these steps-

1. Make sure the thicker dial piece is on the Hanayama side
2. Orient the Hanayama side dial so it is point left of the Hanayama writing
3. Orient the Dial side dial to the right of the Dial writing
4. Bear in mind there are 4 possible orientations of steps 2 and 3
5. Once it clicks open, turn the Hanayama side dial anti clockwise 45 degree
6. Turn the Dial side dial anti-clockwise until you feel the puzzle open further
7. Keep turning the Hanayama side dial anti-clockwise until the dial puzzle is open enough to turn the dial pieces out and separate the entire puzzle

No individual video helped me solve it, but using a bunch of different sources, i was able to find the solution

so i just bought this puzzle today. when i have the 2 silver pieces turned to the side where you can see the 2 halves, they spin freely. when set into the puzzle to begin solving it / taking it apart, its nearly impossible for me to turn the dials... not sure what i can do to get past this resistance. hopefully you can help me

After clicking out the dial side, no matter how much I spin the hanayama side, the black sides dont move apart. What should I do?

To all who are having sticking problems when trying to spin the dials do what Joshua Pepper did and oil it a little.

We had to lubricate our puzzle because it wouldnt turn- we eventually got it but it took about 6-7 hours

It’s really annoying how hard it is to turn the disks on mine

Mine kept seizing up when trying to rotate them. I ended up putting vegetable oil between the dial and the bottom piece so that they would glide better. Then I got it like 30 min later.

I can get the pieces to move to the first place, but when I do that, Hanayama dial moves, but the Dial side doesn't. Very frustrating!!

I have the dial but the center pieces are so tightly assembled that they will barely turn individually 😢

I just got this and it is totally siezed up - I cannot get it to twist in either direction. I am not sure wich way to twist (with force) to get things moving again.

I cant get mine to even slide open. I bet these are manufactured so each one needs to be aligned slight different. My least favorite. Even when you know the solution, it's a pain to solve. Not fun. got it open and apart. And this is probably how I'll leave it :)
