Apple has scheduled a special event for 10 November 2020 entitled "One More Thing". Apple Silicon Macs are widely expected to launch at this event. Let me share a few of my thoughts...

As a developer who works on a giant iOS codebase, I was sitting around waiting for a build to complete and fantasizing about Apple creating a processor specifically tuned to integer performance (what compilers use), but I suspect I am the most niche of the niche consumers of their hardware. 🤣 In any case, still excited to see how this unfolds!

You’re one of my lowkey fave tech youtuber. Im glad you dropped your thoughts on the upcoming apple silicon event. I’ve noticed some youtubers kept on dropping new videos about the upcoming event with the same content. I dont feel their genuiness towards the event but rather for the views! Would it not make sense for Apples first mac silicon computer they debut be something that current hardware cannot do? The fanless, powerful, 2+ day battery life laptop?
Completely agree with you on the announcement of a product and not seeing it for a month or more.. it’s getting a bit frustrating. You could wait until you have enough stock, announce it and ship it the following week.

I heard from www.heise.de that Apple has already a Mac Pro with similar performance but they’re gonna release it next year because of some reasons. I don’t think that it’s true but it would be awesome!

Extremely excited to see what Apple announces but expecting to be disappointed when it’s nothing really revolutionary in the end. Better battery life, lighter, thinner laptops are almost assured but I really want something game changing. I honestly wish Apple could release something good enough to shut up everyone’s mouth, good price for performance, no gimmicks, work ready, prove everyone that they don’t hold candles to nvidia or amd and stuff. They have every opportunity and all the resources in the world to do it, it’s just a matter of wanting to.

Hey, will programming language like Java, C, Python work on the ARM Mac on day one like it is now in current Intel based mac?I am just a newbie to programming and think that if it is as capable as the current intel based Mac it would work for me for up to 5 more years or more. I specially would like to know about Python. Thanks.

Waiting in dread... finally Apple will be able to drag desktop users into the walled garden that is the App Store. You want software for your ARM desktop/laptop? You will be paying an extra 30% from when this launches till doomsday!
